How to Use Google Keyword Planner Tool to Find Keyword Phrases

In this online business guide, I'll teach you how to use Google Keyword Planner tool to find search volume of keyword phrases. Before you start building a website or blog as a blogger, webmaster, internet marketer, affiliate marketer, etc, you should be able to research and find profitable keyword phrases to target on different web pages of your web site or blog if your ultimate goal is to make money online.

You've to do this because majority of online shoppers and information seekers usually go to search engines to type search queries associated with the products, services or information they want to buy or learn about on the internet.

Unless you create content around these search terms which buyers are entering into search engines' boxes, the possibility of web surfers finding your website or blog is slim or even non-existent.

It is even more important for you to know how to find profitable keyword phrases if you fall in any of the following categories:

  • You want to build websites, optimize them for on-page SEO, rank on first page of major search engines and make money with Google Adsense,
  • You want to build websites or blogs to promote affiliate products and make money with affiliate marketing,
  • You are a blogger and your main goal is blogging for money through getting free targeted traffic to your web site, and
  • You are a merchant or vendor selling your own digital products and services.
One of the ways you can find these keyword phrases is to use keyword research tools which are available on the internet either as free or paid keyword software.

The free keyword research tools are good but they have their own limitations when it comes to “analyzing competition” for specific search terms which you want to rank for and then create quality content around these key phrases.

However, you can use the free keyword research tool to start your own business, make money on the internet and then reinvest part of your profits to buy essential business tools so that you can automate some of the online jobs and live life in your own terms with hands-free income generating business from home.

If your goal is to find profitable keyword phrases in less time and target them in order to get free targeted traffic from search engines such as Google.com, you're lucky to be reading this guide.

This manual keyword research method is okay for beginners who are just starting out when you don't have much money to buy keyword research tool from the get go except the cost of registering a domain name and buying web hosting.

If you don't want to work too hard in your internet business, make sure you invest in automation tools as soon as you make money from the internet. Personally, I like to work less and earn more so that I can do other important things that matter to me.

You've to always remember that the main purpose of keyword research is to speedily find profitable long tail keywords with low competition to target on your blog or website. To use internet marketing jargon, you have to find low hanging fruits to target when writing and publishing blog posts and articles!

You can find long tail keywords using the free Google Keyword Planner tool or any other good alternative and then analyze each of the keyword phrases for competitiveness manually.

For you to successfully find long tail keyword phrases manually with weak competition, you've to resort to your gut instinct and common sense based on the level of your internet marketing experience.

With the help of Mozilla Firefox, SEOQuake plugin or Moz Rank Toolbar and with a high dose of patience, you can complete this task successfully. To tell you the truth, the manual keyword research system is cumbersome and time consuming but it is worth it when you don't have all the money in the world to invest in your business.

This part of digital marketing, i.e. keyword research, if done right can help you to make your first $1,000 within 90 days of starting an online business with only the cost of registering a domain name and buying web hosting.

Paid keyword research tool is good but expensive. It helps you to effortlessly find profitable long tail keywords which you can rank for on the first page of major search engines especially Google.com, Bing.com, Yahoo.com, etc.

What I want to teach you in this guide is how to find keywords using Google Keyword Planner tool especially for beginning affiliate marketers and internet marketers. First and foremost, you have to sign up for Google Ads account to use it if you don’t have an account.

Right now, it is only Google Ads account holders who have access to this free keyword research tool right from their account's dashboard. To get started, go to Google Ads “sign in,” “create an account” or “sign up” page link above.

But don’t be scared; you don’t have to run Google Ads campaign immediately in order to make use of the Keyword Planner. Simply sign up and fill out your billing info. Google will charge $1 to your debit or credit card in order to verify your account and to make sure you're for real.

If you have done that, simply follow this guide on how to use Google Keyword Planner tool to generate as many buyer keywords as you can from the free keyword research software.

With that said, let’s get cracking!

Step 1: Identify a Niche Market or Product to Promote

Our starting point is for you to identify a niche market or product you want to promote. After you've identified the niche market or product, find out the best word/words that precisely describe(s) your market or product.

For instance, if you want to build a website in the “weight loss” market, you'll start with broad keywords such as:
  • Weight loss
  • Lose weight
  • Fat loss
  • Fitness programs
  • Weight loss exercise
From the above search queries, you'll be able to go deep and find “niche market keywords” which are closely related to your product, service or information. In this exercise, it's “weight loss,” “lose weight,” “fat loss,” etc.

By now, I guess you should understand the train of thought.

What you've to do next is to type each search term, separated by a comma or simply hit the “enter” button on your keyboard, into the tool search box in order to find additional keywords related to your original search terms.

After you've entered all the initial keywords (maximum of 10 keywords) into the search box, click on the “Get results” button for the search engine to go to work and return your expected result.

You can also use this same method to discover related “product name” keywords assuming you're promoting an affiliate product. Product name is the name of the product which you want to promote and sell from your blog or website.

Let's continue with our “weight loss” example. There is a product name from Clickbank marketplace which I hand-picked for this keyword research tutorial. It called “15-Minute Weight Loss.”

I'll take note of “15-Minute Weight Loss” as the product name keyword and investigate it to determine the average search volume per month plus additional synonyms or keyword variations which potential buyers are typing into the search engine box to find the product.

From the image above, Google Keyword Planner tool returned additional search terms closely related to my “seed keyword” along with the average search volume and CPC (cost per click) per month for each of the search terms.

But you've to take note that keyword research tool may not return any keyword data for a new or emerging market or new product. As an internet marketer, you should know in advance the type of keyword phrases which potential buyers will be typing into Google to buy such products and services.

If you can use these new-found keywords and write SEO articles to target them on your blog, you'll make money as an early bird in your target niche market before others do.

Now that the above step has been sorted out, let’s go on to step 2.

Step 2: Launch Google Keyword Planner

To start the keyword research exercise proper, you've to sign in to your Google Ads account and from your account's dashboard, you'll see a menu bar across the top of the web page.

Simply locate the spanner image link and click on it.

A drop down menu will come down. Click on the “Keyword Planner.” It'll take you to a page where you will see another link to click on; it says “Discover new keywords.”

Or, you can directly access the keyword research software from https://ads.google.com/home/tools/keyword-planner. You can enter keyword(s) in the search box, each keyword separated by comma. There are lots of filters in Google Ads Keyword Planner which you can apply in your keyword research exercise as you master its use in order to streamline the results you'll get.

There is also a search box where you can enter the domain name URL of your competitor's website if you want to discover the type of keyword phrases he or she is targeting.

But in this section, I want us to concentrate our efforts on finding buyer keywords to target. To start off, I will enter the “niche market keyword” and “product name keyword,” separated by comma.

After entering the keywords and before clicking on the “Get results” button, you can select the country where you want to target your online marketing campaign to. In this exercise, I selected United States because from my experience US has the largest market!

Also, because I want to get as many keyword ideas as possible, I'll not apply any other search filters for now. Next, I'm going to click on the “Get results” button so that Google Keyword Planner tool can go to work for me.

As soon as the software finishes processing the information, it will return the results which you can download in CSV excel file to your computer or laptop for later use.

From the keyword research example and depending on the popularity of your niche market, you will get many search terms to investigate. Definitely, not all search terms will be relevant to your needs. Simply copy and paste the most relevant keyword phrases into a separate notepad and save it.

If you follow this Google Keyword Planner tutorial, you'll discover that potential buyers are searching for “weight loss tips,” and others. With these set of keywords to work with, you can start analyzing each of the search terms for keyword competition. A keyword with low competition means lots of authority websites are NOT targeting that specific keyword.

In other words, you have a fighting chance of ranking your website or webpage on the first page of Google and other big search engines preferably in positions 1 to 3 if you target the keyword by publishing quality content, i.e.SEO article, around it and building quality authority backlinks to the page.

It is only advisable to pursue a buying keyword when it has low competition if you really want to get free targeted traffic from search engines. Now, the question you may want to ask is, “How can you determine if a keyword has low market competition?”

The first and fastest method is to use a paid keyword research tool. Now, I prefer using paid keyword research tool to analyze keywords in order to save time. I would rather invest the time to write SEO articles around long tail keyword phrases with weak competition than conducting manual keyword research for hours on end.

Step 3: Keyword Competition Analysis

You've to download Mozilla Firefox browser and install SEOQuake plugin or Moz Rank Toolbar to complete this step. Mozilla Firefox browser, SEOQuake plugin and Moz Rank Toolbar are free to download and install. It takes few minutes to download and install.

After the installation, open up Google.com in your Firefox browser. After you have done that, copy and paste each search term into the Google search box.

The keywords you should not target are search terms which have authority websites on the first page of SERP. Authority websites will vary from webmaster to webmaster based on his or her level of internet marketing skills and experience.

Personally, I usually avoid a keyword with the following attributes:

  1. More than 5 websites that are on page one of Google.com already targeting my potential keyword have 100 and above backlinks each linking to the ranking web page,
  2. There are well-known authority websites dominating the first page of Google.com such as Amazon.com, Wikipedia.org, etc,
  3. The age of the domain name ranking on page one is 2 years and above, and
  4. The websites on the first page of Google are intentionally targeting the keyword on their title page, meta description, domain URL and content.
Attempting to beat HealthLine.com, WebMD.com, etc for keywords like “weight loss for women” will be an exercise in futility. The age of these domain names are years back.

So, Google.com will trust these domain names than your own domain name which you just registered yesterday. This is why you see experienced SEO specialists fighting over expired domain names to buy which are 3 years old and above.

What I'm really interested in is to have at least 2 to 5 slots on the first page of Google to rank my website for my target target keyword. Also, I've to double check to make sure that I can rank for my target search term as quickly as possible by looking at the second page of Google to dispel any fear of finding 2 to 5 major contenders who are already gunning for the same slots on page one of SERP which I'm aiming at too.

If you're using Moz Rank Toolbar, you may want to target a keyword with Domain Authority (DA) less than 25 and Page Authority (PA) less than 25. You can use MajesticSEO.com or AHREFS.com to analyze the backlinks and determine their authority.

This is how to use Google Keyword Planner tool to find search volume of any keyword or phrase in your target niche market. And I believe you can do it now.

How to Get HostGator Cheap Hosting with Free Domain Name

HostGator cheap hosting
In this special guide, I'll show you how to get HostGator cheap hosting with free domain name. Starting an online business has gotten easier now and you should take advantage of it so that you too can start making money online.

With less than $100.00 (One Hundred Dollars) for HostGator 1 year hosting (i.e. 365 days) as your business startup cost, you can build a website or start a blog and make money from home in so many ways you cannot even imagine now.

As you may already know, domain name registration and website hosting are essential web services you've to invest in to start your own business online. It allows you to have secured web servers where you can upload files, scripts, apps, database, and so on which will make your blog or web site to function properly.

Without a reliable web hosting, your potential website visitors will not be able to find your business on the World Wide Web. Because a lot of aspiring internet entrepreneurs, bloggers, affiliate marketers, webmasters, etc are working on a shoestring budget, I've put together this web hosting guide to walk you through the steps to get HostGator cheap hosting.

What this means is that finding a company offering free domain name registration with cheap web hosting will go a long way to facilitate the business process of things for you to get started without much financial stress.

In order to make sure my blog readers do not procrastinate because of lack of business capital, I decided to write this blog post and another HostGator tutorial PDF to help you start an internet business in earnest and seamlessly too.

It doesn't matter whether you're launching a website or blog for not-for-profit, personal, business, ecommerce store, membership site, forum and so on; you definitely need to register a domain name and buy web hosting to get started.

Your domain name is the web address for people to access and visit your website. It's like your house number where you live. Without having an online identity, nobody will know where you are, what you do and how to get to your place of business.

I'm using BusinessDoer.com as the domain name to run this blog. It's our identity and business brand because we “show and tell” our readers and subscribers how to make money online from home without outrageous hype or bogus claims.

For example, Google.com and Amazon.com are household names today for search engine services and e-commerce retailing respectively. When you type these names on your browser and hit the 'enter' button on your keyword, you're immediately taken to their respective home pages.

In the light of the above, you've to get a good domain name to start your own dream project on the web. The best domain name you should look out for to register is keyword domain which convey good meaning with one or more business ideas behind it.

For instance, any individual or company that owns WeightLoss.com has EMD (exact match domain) to do his/their business. You don't have to explain to anyone what that domain name stands for on the internet, holding all other things constant.

To this end, make sure you register a domain that clearly suggests what you do in your business without explaining to anyone by word of mouth or writing long epistle to do so.

Let's look at a typical example of what I'm writing about getting a keyword domain name. Google.com is not an English word but a creative. This type of name is known as brandable domain.

If you can invent a word or mix and match an English word with your creative to get the best domain name, that would be great. Over time, online shoppers and website visitors will come to identify you with that brand name as your business domain. But you'll shell out good advertising budget to make your brand popular.

Yes, the downside of using brandable domain name is the cost of advertising in order to establish strong web presence. You've to heavily invest in paid advertising as well as search engine optimization (SEO) so as to gain traction to your website as quickly as possible.

It costs less than $10 per year to register a domain name to do your business. But HostGator is offering their first time customers free domain name registration for the first year. In other words, you can sign up with HostGator web hosting and get free domain name to start with.

For beginners, it will be of tremendous help and savings for you to manage your domain name and website hosting from the same company. You don't have to go through the hassle of visiting another registrar's website to update name servers with the name servers given to you by your web host.

As you get a free domain name with your HostGator cheap hosting, it will automatically resolve to your web host servers which is a huge time saver.

For new customers, HostGator now offer free domain name registration with their hosting service if you sign up for 12 months and above. For you to get HostGator cheap web hosting, click here now to go to their official website.

On their home page, you'll see the “Get started!” button or anything similar as shown in the screenshot below. Click on it to go to the next page.

The next page is where HostGator shared hosting plans are displayed side by side for you to select from. Please you've to bear it in mind that HostGator hosting plans come at various price points.

HostGator web hosting service at the shared level include Hatchling, Baby and Business plans which is what I'll focus on because it is budget friendly. But I'll advise you to click on the HostGator Baby Plan to sign up.

There is a reason for this. The Baby Plan will allow you to host unlimited domain names on the same hosting account which you've created with the company. But for the Hatchling Plan, you can only host one single domain. So, there will be no room for you to expand and grow your business in the near or remote future when your business starts flourishing.

After clicking on the HostGator Baby Plan, you'll be taken to the checkout page. This is where you've to fill out all the information required from you to set up your hosting account. Let's go through the items one after the other.

Item 1: Choose a Domain

Let me start from the very beginning to walk you through the steps to get free domain name and cheap web hosting from HostGator. At the top of the web page starting with item 1 is “Choose a Domain.”

You've 2 options here, namely, “Register a New Domain” and “I Already Own This Domain.”

If you don't have a registered domain name yet, click on the “Register a New Domain” option. You'll be able to type and confirm the availability of the domain you wish to register. If it is not taken, you can go ahead to register it. But if it taken as the case may be, simply search for other domain name ideas until you're successful.

The second option is when you already have a registered domain name probably with a separate registrar. You can click on “I Already Own This Domain” and type the domain name followed by TLD but without the hyper text protocol e.g. businessdoer.com.

HostGator domain name search engine will automatically search and integrate it as your primary domain name to set up your account.

Item 2: Choose a Hosting Plan

Strictly speaking, by clicking HostGator Baby Plan “Buy Now!” button in the previous step before arriving at the check out page, you've chosen your hosting plan already.

By the right hand side of this section is the billing cycle with a drop down list to select from, namely: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 24 months and 36 months.

For you to register a free domain name, you must select 12 months hosting and above. Better yet, it is cheaper to host for 36 months than 24 months and 12 months. Here is a comparable table I did for the different prices for 12, 24 and 36 months.

As you can see from the image above, the 3 years HostGator web hosting service comes down to $3.93 per month, the 2 years is $5.48 and 1 year is $7.17. You can now decide which number of months to sign up for. For me, the 36 months web hosting is the cheapest and it will make you to focus on running your internet business squarely from day one.

Item 3: Enter Your Billing Info

The third item on the list is for you to enter your billing information. This is quite straight forward. If your payment type is to use debit or credit card, you've to leave it at the default. But if you are using PayPal.com to make payment, simply click the radio button beside PayPal.

You've to make sure you select your country, city, state and type your zip code to complete this section.

Item 4: Add Additional Services

HostGator additional services are basically the add-on services outside the normal website hosting payment. Ticking any of the boxes in this section will add to the cost of your total amount of money you will finally pay.

Since we're focusing on cheap web hosting, I reasonably think you should deselect any add-on service that has been ticked by default by clicking the check box. For example, the image above has these 2 add-on services checked:

-Protect your site from hackers with help from SiteLock -Highly Recommended
-Backup Your Hard Work. (Powered By CodeGuard)

You can click the boxes to deselect them if you don't really need the services right now. You can always sign up for such services from your dashboard at any time.

Item 5: Enter a Coupon Code

This is how to get cheap web hosting from HostGator. Please pay close attention so that you can take advantage of HostGator discount offer. First of all, clear the coupon code box by deleting the code above. If you've successfully done that, you should have an empty box like this:

Now, type this special HostGator coupon code, BUSINESSDOER, in capital letters, into the empty field and click the “Validate” button.

It will be validated if you rightly type the HostGator discount coupon i.e. BUSINESSDOER into the box as shown in the screenshot below.

Item 6: Review Order Details

The final section of the checkout page is to review your order before clicking the box to agree to HostGator's terms of service and the “Checkout Now!” button. As you can see from the above image, you'll only pay $86.04 instead of $143.40 and saving a huge discount of $57.36 for 12 months website or blog hosting.

In conclusion, you can get free domain name and buy cheap web hosting from HostGator if you follow this tutorial as is. Hurrah!

How to Make Money from a Website Step by Step -Part 2

In part 1 of our blog post on how to make money from a website, we explained the affiliate marketing business model. Today, I want to start off with how to make money with Google Adsense. As a matter of fact, you can run Google Ads and affiliate products links concurrently on the same web site as long as you don't overdo it.

Make Money with Google Adsense

Pay per click advertising is a service offered to paying advertisers by search engine companies so that the adverts for their products and services can be displayed on the search engine result pages and/or on other advertising partners' network sites.

So, advertisers can sign up with any search engine company such as Google.com, Bing.com, Yahoo.com, etc on their platforms in order to advertise their products, services or brands to targeted audience and markets.

Now, as a website owner, you can partner with Google.com and sign up with them to get codes to paste on the pages of your website or blog. Based on the content on your website's pages, Google algorithm will automatically display adverts related to your blog's content.

The adverts Google is displaying on every site or blog are the PPC (pay per click) from their paying advertisers. To the advertisers it is known as Google Ads (formerly Google Adwords) while to the webmasters it is Google Adsense.

And the corollary of this is that you get a share of the amount of money an advertiser is paying to Google to display his ads on your website every time your website visitor clicks on such advert to go to the advertiser's landing page, website or blog.

For you to make money with Google Adsense, you must build high quality content site which should be targeting lots of low competing long tail keyword phrases. So, you've to learn how to conduct keyword research to uncover profitable keyword phrases which you'll write content around. Making use of Google Keyword Planner tool is paramount to your success.

Google Adsense is the best and easy way to make money online if you know what you're doing. The highlights below will help you to build profitable Adsense sites without breaking a sweat.

  • Target high paying niche markets e.g. finance, credit cards, debt, foreclosure, technologies, business startups, etc.
  • Use paid keyword research tool to quickly uncover profitable long tail keyword phrases with weak competition.
  • Regularly write and publish rank-able and SEO optimized high quality content on your blog.
  • Build back links to your web pages to fortify your page one ranking especially at positions 1-3 in Google SERP.
  • Create essential pages on your blog to fully adhere to Google Adsense terms of service. These pages include disclaimer, earnings disclosure, privacy policy, site map, about me, contact me, etc.
  • Have lots of content pages which display Google Ads but it should be a themed website with vertical and horizontal topics discussed.
  • Have maximum number of Google Adsense adverts shown on every content page to increase your CTR (click through rate).
  • Create user experience (UX) with your website visitors through content engagement and inter-linking web pages. Be conversational and let your writing style resonate with your target audience.
  • Increase targeted traffic to your website from various sources i.e. make use of diversified traffic methods to increase your Adsense income.
Freelance Business Services

Do you know that your skill, talent or forte is worth millions of dollars on the internet if you can harness and use it to provide quality web services to other webmasters who need it?

All you've to do to be successful with freelance business services is to activate, hone and deploy your specific digital skills to good use. A lot of webmasters and online business owners need independent contractors on a daily basis to do odd jobs or complete tasks for them for various reasons.

Some internet business owners don't have the requisite skill to do certain jobs or the time to do it. What they can do is to hire or outsource these jobs to freelancers while they focus on KRAs (key result areas) in their web businesses.

You can offer freelance business services in so many ways including but not limited to freelance writing services, web design and development, virtual assistance, logo design, social media management, just to mention a few.

For you to make money with freelance services, you must be ready to stand out from the crowd. The web space is so crowded with the good, the bad and the ugly freelancers who are willing to offer dirt cheap virtual business services.

As a freelance content writer for hire myself, I know what it takes to get clients who are willing to pay premium rates for my freelance writing services because of the cut throat competition out there.

However, you can succeed with freelancing business if you can do the following:

  1. Build a freelance website to serve as your virtual office and brand.
  2. Customize and optimize your website or blog for on-page SEO.
  3. Create samples of your work and package them as your portfolio.
  4. Do guest blogging on influential bloggers' sites in your niche to gain targeted exposure, backlinks and authority.
  5. Regularly publish quality articles or posts on your blog and rank your website for keywords which your potential clients are likely to type into search engines' boxes to find freelance workers for hire.
Buying and Selling Domain Names for Profit

Majority of webmasters and online entrepreneurs don't know that there is big time business from domain name investing. In case you don't know, the simple business model behind domain investing is to buy low and sell high.

For example, it costs less than $10 to hand register a domain name from a reputable domain registrar like NameSilo.com. If you can find potential buyers who have the need for the same name after registering a domain, you'll be amazed how much money you'll make from the transaction.

Domain investing is one of my forte and I make money with domain names every now and then. It's fun and profitable business to buy a domain name for about $8.99 and then turn around to sell it for $100 and above after few days of registration.

With less than $100 as your business startup cost, you can get domain names to resell for quick cash profits. I wrote a domain business guide some years back and I sold lots of copies of it like ice cream in a desert before I took it down due to sickness.

I may relaunch the domain flipping guide after mulling it over. You may check the details from this link later.

There are domain aftermarkets or secondary markets where you can buy and sell domain names for profit like Afternic.com, Dan.com, NameSilo.com, Sedo.com, etc. But you must first learn the basics, tips and secrets of successful domaining.

You should not go on a domain registration spree without honing the skills of spotting good domain names i.e. diamonds in the rough. Basically, the best domain name which you hope to sell at arm's length transaction must have good meaning or business idea behind it.

There is nothing as ecstatic as receiving legit inbound offers from potential buyers few hours after getting a domain name for cheap. Imagine registering a domain for $8.99 from your preferred domain name registrar and selling it for $499 few weeks later!

As a domain investor, this is the height of a profit-pulling online business to start from home without breaking the bank. You can learn more about buying and selling domain names from NamePros.com, DNGeek.com and DNForum.com for free.

Write an Ebook and Make Money

Writing and selling ebooks online is big business. Self publishing including ebook publishing is one of the best ways to make passive income online. And you don't have to be a writer to sell ebooks online.

There is ghostwriter for hire who is affordable without compromising the quality of the electronic book. Better yet, your personal writing style is retained when writing an ebook for you.

But if you want to learn how to write an ebook and make money online, there is writing process and steps which you've to familiarize yourself with.

My Ebook Writing Steps:

  1. Identify and select a niche market that you have knowledge in, passion for or probably have interest in.
  2. Analyze the market’s problems, wants, needs and/or desires.
  3. Choose a broad ebook topic or idea that covers the major and specific problems identified from your analysis above.
  4. Develop the ebook outline.
  5. Write the ebook using the outline as your guide or roadmap.
  6. Proofread and edit your ebook.
  7. Prepare and secure your ebook.
  8. Write the sales letter to sell your ebook.
  9. Register a domain name and purchase a reliable web hosting service.
  10. Build your landing page, design the ebook cover, header and footer or outsource if you cannot do it.
  11. Set up and integrate payment processing “Buy Now” button to take orders e.g. PayPal Buy Now button.
  12. Upload and secure your files and download pages on your web hosting web server.
  13. Start applying some smart ebook marketing tips and strategies to sell your electronic book.
  14. Make passive income online
  15. Wash, rinse, and repeat in 2 or more niche markets.
I follow these basic steps to gather information about my target audience's wants and needs and simply provide the solution to fill the needs. If I can write an ebook and make money, anybody can do it. All you have to do is to learn the ropes and you'll the amazed at the results you will get.

In conclusion, you've discovered how to make money from a website or blog by monetizing it with affiliate products and services, Google Adsense codes, freelance business services, buying and selling domain names and writing an ebook and selling it online. Now, brace up yourself and get started. You'll succeed!

How to Make Money from a Website Step by Step -Part 1

If you're wondering how to make money from a website or blog, I believe this guide is for you because it sheds more light on the topic and can help you to get started almost immediately.

But you've to understand all the moving parts that make up a web site. In other words, all websites are not created equally; some can make money while others cannot because they were not primed to earn money as it were.

First and foremost, a website or blog that will make money online for you will have the following items properly set up:

  1. A domain name,
  2. Website hosting,
  3. Blog or website,
  4. Unique and quality content regularly published on your blog,
  5. Fair volume of targeted traffic to your website on a constant but increasing basis,
  6. Monetize your blog adequately, and

Affiliate Marketing Business
If you're a keen observer on the internet, you'll notice that majority of bloggers, content publishers, webmasters, etc recommend products and services on their web sites via text links and banners.

Most of the time, they don't own these digital products. There are independent product creators, merchants and vendors who took the time to research and create the products for sale. They allow affiliate marketers to sell on their behalf as they cannot do all the selling by themselves because they don't own all the web traffic in the world.

To this end, merchants and vendors are always willing to set up affiliate programs for digital marketers to join and sell for them. They are also ready to share from their profits with affiliate marketers who have invested the time, money and energy to generate targeted traffic to their websites before a sale can be closed.

Let's assume a merchant for a weight loss product which is selling at $100 per product has an affiliate program. He has also decided to approve 20 percent of the selling price as affiliate commission to his affiliates.

If you start a blog and join the merchant's affiliate program, you can generate your affiliate link for the promotion of the product. Thereafter, you can start promoting the product via your link and when a prospect or lead who you will send to the merchant's site buys, you earn your commission of $20 per sale.

What happens if you're able to sell 5 of that product per day? You'll make $100 per day online by simply promoting a weight loss product which you don't even own. This is how to make money from a website blog using the affiliate marketing business model and it is beginner friendly.

The easiest and best way to make money with affiliate marketing is to start promoting products and services which you've personally used and have affiliate programs for you to sign up with. This way, you'll be able to relate with the usefulness and efficacy of the product or service and come across with your target audience.

You can write product review article or publish tutorial blog post teaching your target niche market the step by step way on how to do something. From your content, you can include CTA (call to action) as your affiliate link directing your readers to the merchant's official landing page.

To sum up this section, you've to make sure that you only promote products and services complementary to the content of your website and will add value to the lives of your blog visitors. You should not build a niche site about kitchen wares and start promoting and pasting affiliate links related to shoes and handbags.

The best you can do is to register a domain name about shoes, create a web hosting account for the domain and start a blog for free. With less than $10 to get a domain name and then hosted on your website hosting service that allows unlimited domains hosting on the same account, you can make passive income online month after month.
